Alyssa Korell, PhD

Project Coordinator

Alyssa serves as a Project Coordinator supporting CHDI’s substance use disorder initiatives, including prevention and intervention in youth outpatient settings through the DCF-SUD project and in-home services through the CT-TREE grant. Alyssa also supports CHDI’s evidence-based practices and Behavioral Health Plan initiatives.

Alyssa joined CHDI in July 2022 as a Postdoctoral Fellow working primarily on evidence-based treatment practices, including engagement and completion of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), measurement-based care in outpatient settings, and supporting enhancements to site-based consultation. She graduated from Idaho State University with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and completed her predoctoral internship training at the Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Sacramento, CA. Alyssa has training and experience providing evidence-based assessments and treatments for children who have experienced trauma and co-occurring concerns, including psychological evaluations for children and caregivers involved in the child-welfare system, TF-CBT, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She has co-authored and presented research related to the interplay of sleep, emotion regulation, and executive functioning in adolescents, assessment of psychosocial competencies in children, and engagement and outcomes of TF-CBT. Born and raised in Idaho, one of Alyssa’s areas of special interest is increasing access to evidence-based treatments, particularly for youth in rural areas.
