Shannon Houston, MSW
Communications Manager
Shannon Houston joined the CHDI staff in 2023 as Communications Manager. She manages CHDI's social media and email marketing efforts, develops written and visual content, and supports overall communications strategy and planning. She brings 18+ years of experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising, and community project management.
Prior to CHDI, Shannon spent four years as an independent communications consultant and freelancer for nonprofits and mental health providers, and previously led communications and fundraising for the Connecticut Fair Housing Center and Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in community organization from the UConn School of Social Work and a BA in Writing from Ithaca College.
