Shannon Houston joined CHDI in June as Communications Manager, managing the organization's digital presence and supporting overall communications strategy and planning. She brings 17+ years of experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising, and community project management.
Shannon holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in community organization from the UConn School of Social Work and a BA in Writing from Ithaca College. Prior to CHDI, she spent four years working as a freelance communications consultant for nonprofits and mental health providers and previously managed communications and fundraising for the Connecticut Fair Housing Center. She currently volunteers with the Middletown Racial Justice Coalition.
