National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day is May 10th. This is a national day that raises awareness about the importance of children's mental health and how vital positive mental health is to a child's development. It is estimated that nearly 15 million young people are affected by a mental illness and only about 7% are receiving appropriate services from a mental health provider.
CHDI is improving access to quality children’s mental health services and systems by identifying, implementing, and evaluating effective models of treatment. We focus on prevention, early intervention, and connection to high-quality treatment and the development and integration of effective mental health systems for children and families.
