Op-ed: CT can build a sustainable behavioral health workforce for families

CHDI's President & CEO Jeff Vanderploeg, Ph.D. highlighted issues facing our state's behavioral health workforce for children and families in an op-ed published by CTInsider.com, and eight daily newspapers (Connecticut Post, Greenwich Time, The Middletown Press, The New Haven Register, The News-Times, The Norwalk Hour, The Register Citizen, and Stamford Advocate) on January 29.

"Strengthening the behavioral health workforce today will pay dividends far into the future and ensure that all Connecticut children and families can access the care they need, when and where they need it." - Jeff Vanderploeg, PhD

The piece also explores strategies the state could use - from raising insurance reimbursement rates to expanding support for those entering the field - to ease the immediate shortage and build a more sustainable workforce for the future.
