CHDI Awarded 2023 “Best Places to Work in Connecticut” by the Hartford Business Journal & New Haven Biz

FARMINGTON, CT - The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) has been named one of the “Best Places to Work” in Connecticut by the Hartford Business Journal and New Haven Biz. The award honors organizations that rank highest in employee satisfaction as determined by a survey administered by the Workforce Research Group.

CHDI ranked first among non-profits and ninth among small/medium-sized employers for the 2023 award. This marks CHDI’s second straight year in the top ten (small/medium-sized employers) for the award. The 45 winners were honored at a ceremony on March 2, 2023 and featured in a special issue of the Hartford Business Journal and New Haven Biz.

CHDI received high marks for the organization's cooperative and inclusive culture, commitment to employee well-being, positive leadership and management style, generous benefits, healthy work-life balance, and engaged staff.

Comments from the staff survey included:

  • The mission is clear, and you are able to see the impact of your work. Strong encouragement of work-life balance. Employees are treated with kindness, trust, and respect.
  • Clear communication and nice people. Employees at all levels get credit for their ideas and contributions. All voices are welcome. Overall it is a very positive and healthy work environment with professional and friendly colleagues.
  • CHDI is a well-respected organization for doing high-quality work and working with many partners. Flexible schedule, remote work option, great colleagues, and a terrific organizational climate.
