CHDI Celebrates Leadership Transition
After 18 years of leadership at CHDI, Judith Meyers stepped down as President and CEO passing the torch to Jeffrey Vanderploeg.
At an event on October 5th in West Hartford, CHDI's Board of Directors honored Judith for shaping the organization into what it is today and celebrated Jeff's promotion to President and CEO. The event highlighted CHDI's contribution to children's health and well-being and outlined the organization's vision for the future.
- Juan Salazar, Chair of the Board for the Children's Fund of Connecticut, welcomed attendees and shared highlights of CHDI's history and contributions to children's health and mental health since it began operating in 1999 under Judith's leadership.
- David Hadden, who served as legal counsel during the initial incorporation of CHDI, moderated a panel discussion with Judith and Jeff followed by questions and comments from the audience. During the discussion Judith and Jeff reflected back on what drew each of them to CHDI, how CHDI and child serving systems have evolved over the years, and what still needs to be done to improve health outcomes for children.
- Margaret Grey, CHDI Board Chair, shared stories about CHDI and expressed gratitude for Judith's exemplary leadership. She also thanked her for her mentorship of Jeff Vanderploeg, an extremely deserving and capable successor, who will ensure CHDI continues it's important work.
- In closing, Judith was presented with gifts on behalf of CHDI's board and staff.
