MATCH-ADTC (Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems)

EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR FOUR COMMON DISORDERS

CHDI is helping behavioral health clinicians treat children and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and conduct problems with a single evidence-based practice.

TREATING MULTIPLE DISORDERS WITH A SINGLE EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE

MATCH-ADTC (Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems) is an evidence-based treatment designed for children ages 6 - 15. Unlike most treatment approaches that focus on single disorders, MATCH is designed to treat four common behavioral health concerns among children, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and behavior problems.

MATCH is comprised of 33 modules (e.g., praise, rewards, etc.) representing treatment components that are frequently included in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) protocols for depression, anxiety including post-traumatic stress, and behavioral parent training for disruptive behavior. Based on the child's primary concern, treatment is sequentially organized and flexible in order to tailor treatment to each child's specific characteristics and needs.

MATCH was developed by Bruce Chorpita, Ph.D. and John Weisz, Ph.D., ABPP. The model synthesizes decades of empirically based research on evidence-based treatments and strategies.

CHDI, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Harvard University (HU) established a partnership in July 2013 to implement, replicate and evaluate MATCH-ADTC. The MATCH initiative included a randomized clinical trial conducted by Harvard University and supports continued statewide dissemination led by CHDI using the Learning Collaborative methodology.
