CHDI adapted Gizmo’s Pawsome Guide to Mental Health curriculum, widely used in elementary schools in Connecticut, to create an activity book for preschool-aged children that promotes awareness of feelings, coping skills, and seeking support from trusted adults. The activity book, along with an implementation guide for preschool/pre-k teachers and home visitors, is available on both the CHDI website and the Gizmo website in both English and Spanish.
This project was supported by a Centers for Disease Control Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences: Data to Action grant through Connecticut's Office of Early Childhood and UConn School of Social Work, with partners at the Department of Children and Families, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and United Way.
